BEIJING, CHINA - MAY 2006: The headline in this Chinese newspaper reads, 'Within 200 days a beauty had four plastic surgery operations on her breasts.' Mrs Li, 39, had breast implants at a small clinic behind the Mother & Child hospital in San Ya, Hai Nan province.
The doctor was very inexperienced and one of the implants failed. This doctor then removed the failed implant and instead injected her left breast with a colloid called Ao Mei Ding. This caused her great pain and her left breast became infected,
She had an emergency operation in Beijing to remove the Ao Mei Ding, and the other implant which had also failed and spent 3 months in hospitral recovering.
The hospital has refused to take any responsibility or what has happened to her. Her case is part of a class action being brought by Beijing lawyers on behalf of 100 Ao Mei Ding victims.
