ISLAND OF EIGG, SCOTLAND - 31st OCTOBER 2007: Gwen Sherif, 36, a nursery assistant who runs the nursery in the island's only school, reads by candle light at night in her caravan. She has been on the island for 5 years and now has a croft where she hopes one day to build her own house.
"I think the biggest impact of the electricity programme will be light. Also, I will be able to pump water because right now I have to carry my water in a bucket. I will be great as well to get a washing machine and a fridge."
